Laser tattoo removal is safe and effective technique of solving the problem. The result is noticeable after the very first procedure: the image becomes paler, and the process of withdrawal of the pigment from the skin continues for several days after each session. Scars are not formed, so at the end of the complete course the former tattoo has no leftovers.

Techniques for tattoo removal

With the development of laser technology, many other alternative techniques lose its relevance:

Tattoo removal with a Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser
Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser destructs pigment under the skin, being neodymium infrared device of the last generation which impacts the pigment by high-pulse light.
The device acts on the principle of laser selective (selective) photothermolysis: dye molecules absorb light, heat, explode and disintegrate into tiny particles that are being removed by the body naturally.

Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser can adjust the length and duration of each light pulse in order to achieve a desired result, since each tattoo has its own individual characteristics: depth of the pigment color, density, degree of limitation. Therefore, the exact number of pulses can be determined only during the session, and the approximate area of ​​the pattern depends on its color.
Q-Switched Nd:YAG is equipped with two nozzles, one nozzle helps to shape enough long wave to influence deep-seated black and blue pigment, and the second one allows doctor to work with other shades of dye.

Procedure

Firstly doctor conducts a visual inspection of the tattoo, collects anamnesis (to identify contraindications), offers the patient to wear special glasses to stay in a comfortable chair. Anesthesia is not required as usual. Working mode is selected strictly individually, depending on the characteristics of the tattoo.
During one session only the top layer of the pigment is destroyed. Due to high temperature, dye literally foams and tattoo lightened considerably. The effect lasts for a few minutes, and then the skin becomes slightly red, and dry crust is formed, which is coming off a 1-2 weeks. The procedure can be repeated in 4-6 weeks.
Sunbathe is not recommended during at least 2 weeks before the laser tattoo removal session. You also need to refrain from the effect of sunlight (and solarium) within one month after the session to avoid skin pigmentation. Thermal treatments (bath, sauna, hot tub) are not recommended during the first few days as well.

Contraindications

During the consultation, doctor assesses the feasibility and acceptance of laser tattoo removal, taking into consideration the individual characteristics of the patient. In particular, the procedure is not performed if the client has cancer, inflammation, or mechanical skin damage in the treatment area.

Before and after procedure

Avoid sunbathe 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the procedure.
Being outdoor, use sunscreen with a high protection factor.
Do not take tetracycline 3 weeks before and 2 weeks after the procedure.
3 days after the procedure, do not go to saunas, baths, swimming pools with chlorinated water.
